Norris House is a residential care home for 4 people, which specialises in caring for those with Mental Health and Dementia issues. The home is very recently converted to a very high standard.
Being a small home, it has the advantage of being very much a home from home, where residents are more like members of an extended family than simply people living under the same roof.
A Victorian end of terrace house, Norris House is located in a residential area, close to the centre of Reading. All local amenities are easily accessible, as are places of worship, doctors' surgeries etc. Public transport, as well as road and rail, links are excellent, allowing our residents' families to visit easily and often.
As well as their own, beautifully decorated, en suite rooms, our residents have access to both a busy lounge and also to quite areas, where they can entertain visitors or quietly read a book.
At Norris House we have two dedicated activities organisers who work to ensure that residents have a full and varied range of activities to enjoy.
Every week residents are provided with a diary that lets them know what's on. There are regular weekly activities such as bingo, quizzes, films, musical exercises, games and crafts. The activity team also arranges trips, visits from entertainers and lots, lots more.
A mobile shop, run by volunteers is available once a week.
Hairdressing, chiropody, private telephone, and newspapers are available at an additional charge.
|Norris House was registered with the Care Quality Commission on 27th September 2012, but they have yet to inspect it. Click here to read reports as the home is assessed.|
