About the Mulberry Group of Homes

The group was established by Sats Ahluwalia in 1997 and since has grown to 6 residential care homes predominately in the Berkshire and Wiltshire regions. The group specialises in residential dementia care and is looking to move into the nursing home market in the near future. Respite care is also available at the homes, subject to availability.

What is unique about our care homes is that they are designed to be a home away from home. If you are looking for a comfortable homely home with excellent standards of care then come and visit us.

It is important to us at Mulberry that our homes have a strong sense of community and a personal feel to them. We put a lot of emphasis on the social aspect of day to day living and although we encourage independence wherever possible, we also like to organise group and individual activities along with regular group outings for our residents.

Mulberry Group has an established reputation of delivery high quality care in an environment which provides comfort, safety and a wide range of facilities to the residents. An on-going programme of investments means that all of the homes are well presented and the residents have an environment which they can feel at home in.

We also believe in delivery a high quality of care with staff that are employed under a rigorous process to ensure that residents enjoy the continuity of care. Furthermore, we ensure that within our homes all staff understands the importance of dignity and providing high quality of care and promoting dignity. All of our Reading homes are signed up to Reading Borough Councils Dignity Charter; there is no charter in Wiltshire at present however our Wiltshire homes follow the same policy and procedures as our Reading homes so these home are also adhering to this charter.

Each home is run by the Registered Care Manager, who have backgrounds in nursing and administration. They are responsible for the day to day operation of the home including the management of relationships with residents and their relatives. The Registered Care Manager has a number of group matter experts who are experts in the outcome headings set out by the Care Quality Commission. This ensures that our records and care is at the highest level possible. Sats Ahluwalia is always available for the managers along with the staff and is heavily involved in the day to day running of each home. This management structure ensures that each home is managed and operated through short communication lines to produce a consistent standard and quality of service.
